Okay, I have to admit it, when I first received an e-mail about this application I thought to myself "another stupid ‘one trick’ iPhone app".  I mean, it’s a cute idea- putting the image of one of those celebratory whistles on an iPhone, but, come on, it’s the type of thing you look at for a second and then never ever want to use again.

Then I saw that youtube video of the application at work. Now I thought to myself, "another stupid one trick iPhone application — but this is one of the slickest, funniest advertisements I’ve seen for knife on application. For that reason alone I’ve got to give it some credit and it’s surely deserves a quick review."  Here, see for yourselves —

So they got points for the commercial. Then I actually tried the application and, quite frankly, it’s stupid but it’s really funny. Moreover, it’s yet one more of those applications that make you think to yourself "the iPhone is really a remarkable device. The fact that you can blow into the microphone  and it pushes out the whistle and makes the sound is amazing. And the fact that the sound and even the way the whistle extends changes depending upon the power with which you blow — remarkable." 

So here it is, a few hours before new years and I just had to post this for everyone to see. And while were at it,  we have a few copies to give out and all you have to do is Twitter us.

Who is it for:   anyone with an iPhone and a sense of humor
What I like:   another application that makes unusual use of the iPhone and its capabilities
What I Don’t:   I’m laughing too hard to think of anything

Final Statement:   if you don’t get one from us in the next few hours by yourself — the smile it brings to your face  (and the way it freaks out the dog) are well worth the price.
