Thanks to iPads, we needn’t carry a heavy load of notebooks to classes anymore. But this throws in another question. Among dozens of popular note taking apps, which one would you trust your academics with? And with PhatPad, it seems we have our answer.

Feature-filled” is the word, by which I would describe this awesome app. Name any measure to make your note taking easier and you have it right here. I admit that Evernote provides most of these features, but a premium monthly subscription doesn’t appeal to me at all.

Now to that huge list of features.

Both text entry and sketching are available. A beautifully animated palette bulges in to help you with the pen size and color. The writing is unbelievably responsive and feels real. Support for my stylus and flawless ‘handwriting to text’ conversion are admirable.

Inserting pictures and text are a walk in the park. ‘Detecting shapes’ and ‘grid display’ keeps your notes well formatted and clean. Editing, resizing and repositioning each box or even strokes makes it perfect. ‘Find and replace’ option is handy as well.

Another neat feature is the support for ‘recording voice’. If there is something you need more time to comprehend or you cant keep up with your ma’am, just tap record and you can follow her later. Sleek ‘page and document management’ elevates the experience further.

Multiple language support, presentation mode and a variety of sharing options are just bonuses. ‘Palm rest mode’ is one of my other favourites. You needn’t fear of loosing your precious notes as you can automatically send them via mail or sync to Dropbox, Google docs or even Evernote.

Seriously, what more could you ask for? PhatPad is undoubtedly a must have.

More than another note-taking app, PhatPad turns your iPad into an advanced brainstorming tool. Draw, write, and type your ideas then instantly share them via email, WiFi sync, Dropbox, or presentation mode. PhatPad’s digital ink technology and handwriting recognition engine allows you to scribble handwritten notes and drawings and convert them into digital text, or perfect geometrical shapes.

PhatPad offers everything you need to express your ideas, enabling you to draw pictures, jot notes, or put a mixture of drawings, images, handwritten and typed text on a virtual scratch pad. The included handwriting recognition engine automatically converts your handwritten notes into digital text, and PhatPad even takes objects you scribble and translates them to perfectly formed shapes.
