I do a good deal of my shopping via Amazon.com. I like the convenience, the selection, and the generous return policy. That’s why I have taken an interest in each of the apps that promise to make searching and purchacing products on Amazon easier and faster. The only problem has been, that the previous apps have been limited, and I have continued to use Amazon’s own optimized web app. That is no longer the case.
Pocket Shop doesn’t add a whole lot to the Amazon web app, but it has a nice enough interface, enough features, and a price (free), that makes it worth grabbing.
When you start the app it presents you with a big search field. After the products are searched for, only the most general information is presented, so that a nice big picture of the item can be offered. If you want more details you can get them with the tap of a button.
If you want to email the information, you can do so with another tap of a button. I very much like the fact that you can set a default email address to make this even faster.
Finally, when you are ready to purchase, you can add the item(s) to your cart and then, with the tap of another button, pull up the Amazon cart.
No, Pocket Shop doesn’t do anything remarkable, but it is as good an option for searching and shopping on Amazon as we have seen.
Now if they could only incorporate Google’s voice search…
