User Rating:From the same folks that brought us Family Feud for the iPhone, we now have another classic game show, The Price is Right, 2010 version. It’s easy to tell that it’s from the same creative team because there are a lot of similarities between the two games.
As with Family Feud, the user starts the game by creating a customized avatar. Once that process is done, the familiar background music starts and a voice that is neither Bob Barker nor Drew Carey lets you know the items for which you (and the other contestants) have to guess the price.
The graphics and motion on this game are excellent and it’s pretty simple and straightforward to play. The game also has an options menu that lets you control the volumes separately for sound effects, music and voice. There is even familiar video with models displaying the merchandise embedded within the game for each round. Like Family Feud before it, the creators go out of their way to duplicate the look and feel of the game show on which the app is based. You even get to spin the big number wheel. By the way, if you’re part of a "Price is Right" fan club, then there is multiplayer capability so you can play as a group.
Admittedly, I’ve never been a fan of The Price Is Right, but I admire the graphics and realism of this game. It’s meant to appeal to the competitive shopper and has a built-in secondary income via advertisement of all the products that are shown while playing. If you like to guess the price when the tags aren’t shown, this is your game.
