User Rating:I got this game when I was fairly new to the Ipod touch. I think I picked it up on a free promotion. When I first played it I found it both challenging and confounding. It is fast paced and requires you to think fast to survive, especially as the game progresses. It is a game that I find I keep coming back to as a good time killer even as I have tried many other games. It’s a simple, fun but also challenging way to pass the time.
The object of the game, to slide the blocks to create winning groups of the same color is simple enough on it’s face. With the addition of a timer that give you less and less time to complete a winning shape it gets harder and more frenetic as time passes. This game is a fun way to help in building your dexterity with sliding and moving on the touch screen surface.
The developer has clearly put alot of thought into the interface and design. The graphics are sharp and crisp, from the dark textures of the backgrounds to the brightness of the blue, red, yellow and green colored squares. The excellent graphics and design carry into the help screens which clearly outline the rules and different sorts of patterns and bonus Quads that make up the game.
Quadrix encompasses many of the bests of a good game. A clear and easy to follow premise for what to do and how to win. Sharp, colorful well executed graphics. A stable program that works well.
Quick Take
Value: High
Would I Buy Again: Yes. It’s absolutely worth it. For a buck you can’t beat it.
Learning Curve: Low
Who Is It For: This is a great game for fans of puzzle games like Bejeweled or Tetris where the object is to move objects and create patterns.
What I Like: The graphics are excellent. I also love having the ability to pause a game or save the current game to play later. Great for those times when you are having a good game but might need to get back to work 🙂
What I Don’t: This is a great application for what it does. Can’t really say anything bad.
Final Statement: If you love puzzle games this is definately worth your dollar.
