Wow.

One word that pretty much says everything I feel about this game.

I am usually not the type of person to play a game on the iPhone for a few hours, but on more than one instance, I found myself doing just that.  This game is by far my favorite game for the iPhone.

First, the graphics are first rate.  Everything is very detailed and even more impressive, runs extremely smooth.  I have had the screen full of towers and at least 30 enemy troops trying to cross and the game didn’t even flicker once.  The quality of this programming is top rate.

Second, the game itself is very addicting.  The object is to stop enemy troops from reaching the other side of the field.  You accomplish this through the use of various towers.  There is a gatling tower that shoots bullets, a missle tower, a tesla tower (electricity), and a goo tower, which slows down the enemy troops.

You are provided with $ that can be used to buy the various towers, and as you kill troops, more $ are received, The tough part is to determine which towers to place in what positions so that you can maximize the amount of damage that the enemy troops take.  Hopefully, you will be able to inflict enough damage that they will die somewhere on the battlefield before crossing to the other side.

The gameplay is made more difficult by the variety of troops that try to cross, everything from ground troops to wheeled armoured vehicles, to airbourne helicopters (which aren’t constrained by your towers layout).  Each of these enemies requires different amounts of damage to be destroyed, and as the combinations of enemies try to cross, the key is to organize the positions of the right towers in the right place to maximize damage and detours.

I love this game, and think that if you haven’t already, you should treat yourself to the very affordable and reasonable $5 (at the time of this writing) that it costs to buy it.

By the way, if you notice from the screen shots, I played both fields to level 100 (which is the winning level).  This takes a few hours to do… and something I have never done with any other iPhone game.

Quick Take
What I like: Graphics, Smooth Gameplay, Very Addicting
What I don’t: Nothing.
Learning Curve: A few rounds to get familiar with the various enemies and towers
Who is it for: Gamers.
Would I buy again: Yes.
