Now-a-days, my favorite genre, or maybe yours too, has become the Point and Click games. Combine the all-time hot puzzles with unique graphics & strong backbone of a mysterious story, and you’re looking at an instant hit. Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery, Fetch, Mystery Lighthouse etc are some that deserves special mention.

Runaway series has typically been such games with cartoony graphicsand  following the story of  ‘the most famous couples in the history of adventure games’, Brian and Gina. Runaway: A Road Adventure is no different, other than the fact that a Crucifix is the culprit here.

Brian is a nerdy boy about to live his dream in the University of California. Meantime somewhere else, a Crucifix has been stolen from the Mafia. Gina gets it from her detective father and while fleeing, meets with an accident with Brian’s car. This unfortunate point marks the crossing of two unrelated lives and triggers the nail biting sequences in Runaway: A Road Adventure.

I hope you’re familiar with the Point and Click gaming. In each level, you’ll find yourself deserted without any help. Scan your surroundings, collect useful items, combine them, use them and get things done. Use your scientific knowledge, puzzle solving skills and most importantly, your common sense, to rescue Gina and solve the mystery surrounding the Crucifix.

I have been playing Runaway: A Road Adventure for quite sometime and I can say that it is really addictive, thanks to the mystery it builds up. But there are some drawbacks I noticed. A speedup button is needed, especially while walking long distances. Also, the sequence of doing actions need to be exact for things to work, which is really annoying. (You’ll realize these, once you start playing)

The above faults aren’t any deal breakers and I’m sure the developers will be working on them. On the whole, the gameplay in Runaway: A Road Adventure is very satisfying and worth the money you spend. Surely deserves a thumbs up.
