User Rating:Air traffic controller is one of the world’s most stressful jobs. So turning the goal of keeping planes from careening into one another may sound like the least relaxing game since The Sims added "procotologist" to the list of possible careers.
But this Runway game is actually a very simple, complex and addictive way even if you’re juggling the lives of airline passengers.
The stages break down in major metropolitan airports that give you a set of runways, gates and fuel dump to gas up your planes as they navigate the taxiway. You score points for successfully landing planes, emptying their cargo and sending them on their merry way without crashing them into one another. Crash three planes and you’re out.
You advance from stage to stage by scoring a certain number before running out of grace crashes.
It’s surprisingly fun for a very simple concept. It’s less about time management and more about movement negotiation, so you can draw all sorts of squiggly and lopping routes for your planes to maximize your space on the tarmac. The backgrounds are colorful and quirky and the retroness of the sound effects make it fun, except when an unlanded plane is about to crash and your iPhone emits this loud beep that sounds like the Defcon alert siren.
