If you do not know what ECID SHSH blobs is, please read this first: What is ECID SHSH.

This tutorial will guide you how to save ECID SHSH Blobs (we will call it SHSH Blobs) by using Cydia. First of all, you have to jailbreak the iPhone and install cydia on iPhone.

Once you have Cydia installed on the iPhone, you will see this screen:

Cydia Make My Life Easier

You only need to tap “Make my life easier, thanks!” to save your SHSH blobs to Saurik’s server.

When done, you will see “This device has a pending TSS request” in the top of Cydia.

Cydia Pending

Within a few hours or days, you should see “This device has SHSHs on file for iPhone OS / iOS: 4.0.1” instead “This device has a pending TSS request” in the top of Cydia.

Cydia has SHSHs on file

This mean that you will be able to downgrade firmware/iOS to earlier iOS version which have saved SHSHs file on Cydia.
In this case, I will be able to downgrade iPhone firmware / iOS to 4.0.1 unless other higher versions stated in Cydia.

Note: Able to downgrade, doesn’t mean that you will be able to downgrade iPhone baseband. When you are updating iPhone firmware / iOS to higher version, it usually updates iPhone baseband as well. Hence, you have to be careful if you are unlockers unless you have Factory Unlocked iPhone.
