It Was Worth A Shot – Using Whiteboard Capture To Capture Text

By

On April 19, 2009

Whiteboard Capture is an interesting single-purpose app that lets you capture pictures of your white board, filter it, and save a clean, easy to read digital image.

You can also take pictures quickly using the standard camera and clean them up using the app later.

Basically, the app is a limited filter that does one trick and does it quickly and easily.

If you do a lot of work using a Whiteboard I can see it being quite handy for just $1.99.

I don’t use White Boards a lot, but I thought there might be another use for it…

Opinion – The Palm Pre– An iPhone Killer?

By

On January 28, 2009

Over the past year, we have seen a series of well-known cell phone makers taking a stab at releasing what the tech world refers to as “iPhone killers.”  Apple has been forgiving, refraining from commenting on the many failed iPhone killers that companies have tried to release in 2008.  Of course, with the massive iPhone sales, and the immense popularity the handset enjoys, it is not necessary for them to even mention its success and its rivals’ (if they can even be called that) repeated downfalls.  It is undoubtedly understood.  One would think that after so many failed attempts, cell phone companies would just hang their heads low as they go back to their high-tech, yet seemingly inadequate labs and give in to the iPhone’s widely recognized awesomeness.  Yet now, barely into 2009, we see another iPhone killer on the horizon, which, though it still awaits public and intensive scrutiny, looks quite nice.

App Update: White Noise

By

On October 11, 2008

I recently reviewed the app White Noise.

White Noise is one of the many background noise apps available currently in the App Store, but it was, in my opinion, the best of the bunch.

Now that it has been updated to version 2.0 it is even better.

Can’t Sleep? Your iPhone Can Help!

By

On August 13, 2008

Can’t sleep? Warm milk not working? Ambian not doing its thing?

Why not try some quiet soothing sounds? Two of the most popular applications in the iTunes App Store are waiting to help.

Ambience and aSleep both  to sell for a low price and do pretty much the same thing: they offer various soothing sounds that can help as you try to relax or fall asleep. Both have countdown timers that turn off the sound after a certain period of time.
