User Rating:I only recently found Shopper when I was looking for a good application to track my grocery list and keep a running price of anything I got from the store. Shopper pretty much fit the bill and I was more than happy to splurge the ninety-nine cents for it.
Let’s start with what they did right: with a few taps, it’s possible to fill your list with generic foodstuffs and grocery store items for shopping preparation. Filling in price and quantity comes later unless you happen to know the prices off the top of your head. With a single tap, you can let the program know if you picked up the item.
Through the setting, you can choose a theme (there are only two) and set things such as state sales tax. You can also customize the aisles to a particular food store and it is also possible to e-mail lists to an external source.
The program does have a few shortcomings. It’s very awkward to fill in price and quantity, particularly if you’re in the middle of shopping. Also it’s not possible to save your historical lists for future reference. Once you clear the cart, it’s gone.
Despite these shortcomings (which I hope can get rectified in future releases), the app is pretty decent. In fact, the app is so good and so popular that another company just acquired it. It’s a perfect example of how a good app can make someone take notice.
Pros: Easy to use. Much functionality.
Cons: Not quite there yet in terms of what I would need it to do.

- Quickly create a list by searching the built-in catalog of over 200 items
