User Rating:As an application, Sign Here should be free, instead, the developer is double charging.
Let me explain. In order to obtain the application, you have to pay $.99. As a result, a myriad of documents are available in legalese for you (but are not actually legal documents). The dialogue box that opens upon the program’s run recommends review by actual legal counsel.
The trick is, Sign Here is not an app that provides these documents. Sign Here is a marketplace for legal-style documents like LegalZoom. You pay a fee for a certain number of credits. With these credits, you can order certain documents that can be filled out, signed using the touchscreen and e-mailed to their intended recipient. To their credit, at least two documents are available on Sign Here for free. One of them is an I.O.U. (I don’t need an application in order to write an I.O.U).
However, let me repress my Sign Here rancor for a little bit when I say that Sign Here is a good idea, and it’s certainly the most inexpensive legal document creator that i know of (even cheaper than LegalZoom). However, the fact that they charge $.99 for the application itself is something I disagree with. The creators should charge nothing for this application, let people download it and then let them decide if they want to pay the credit fees.
However, if I need legal documents that badly, and want to make sure that they’ll hold up in court, I may actually splurge on a lawyer. Pass.
Pros: Simple to use.
Cons: Charges customers on two levels. First for the download, second for the documents.
