With hundreds of games rushing into the AppStore everyday and half of them being copies of others, there is an unending demand for new concepts. Reaping this opportunity is Sky Tourist, with a simple concept bloomed to perfection in the form of an awesome puzzle game.

Imagine a sliding ring in the middle of a rope fixed at both ends. By raising or lowering the right or left supports, you can manoeuvre the ring in infinite different ways (Screenshots might help). We see this very theme in Sky Tourist, except the fact that we have a boy in an Astro suit instead of the ring.

Despite the very light idea, this game proves to be an ultimate entertainer. Though the initial levels may seem as child’s play, it soon turns out to be one of the most challenging games out there. As you proceed, countless obstacles like rotating doors, one-way panels, sharp pencils, hostile aliens, moving platforms, red lasers and god knows what else, makes sure you wouldn’t pass. Save your rope from getting snapped by opening doors in the right order, moving blocks, hitting enemies, turning levers, timing your moves and thinking out of the box. Yep, all elements of a hardcore puzzle game!

The game is divided into 3 planets of 25 levels and a bonus level each. The absence of a ‘more levels coming soon‘ board is disappointing though. Each level rates you in 3 stars and use can them to progress in the game. Collect orbs throughout the game and purchase costumes, gears and souverneers.

The graphics is colourful and pleasing, with fine animations. The sound effects and BGM are great too. The controls, however are not suited for larger screens but I couldn’t think of an alternate system, either. Another major drawback is the frequent crashing of the game which hopefully will get fixed in the next update.

Overall, Sky Tourist is a great puzzle game and a must have if you’re a fan of the genre.
