Talking in day-to-day life is a decent enough way of interacting with people and getting a general idea of their thoughts, views and beliefs. But let’s face it, dreams are our narrow little pathway into the sub-conscious, the place which really takes us into the depths of the mind. With Sleep Talk Recorder, we can easily gain a little bit of access into the dark recesses of the human mind by allowing us to hear what people talk about in their sleep.

Once you’ve set this app up to record noise during the night, it simply records the whole night. Thankfully, when you play back the recording, you only have to listen to the parts where noise was recorded, meaning that you don’t have to fiddle around to get to the
good stuff. Sadly, the only thing I realised about myself after several nights of recording is that I’m such an introvert human being that I tend not to speak during my sleep.

Sleep Talk Recorder offers a few basic settings for you to play around with, such as the sensitivity of the recording and how long you want the recorder to delay for before it activates itself. There is also an optional filter in place, which means that the recorder only turns itself on when it hears noise. Supposedly this reacts in a matter of nanoseconds, meaning that you won’t miss any nocturnal one-liners.

One of the best features of this app is the option to submit your recordings onto it. The popularity of this app means that there is already a solid community in place, with options to rate recordings and browse through the funniest ones. As such, plenty of enjoyment can be had by browsing through the collection of screams, nonsense sentences and wet farts that people have emitted throughout the night.

Sleep Talk Recorder is a powerful and entertaining app. Of course, caution should always be taken when listening back to your recordings. You don’t want to sit down with your girlfriend with the aim of being amused only to find that you were having a wet dream over your ex (the whole ‘It wasn’t me, it was my subconscious’ excuse doesn’t work), or that you’re a nocturnal farter.

Aside from potentially ruining relationships however, this app is great, insightful fun. Even if you find that you have nothing to say in your sleep, the wealth of recordings submitted onto the app means that you can peruse through other people’s night-time ramblings instead.

Did you say something in your sleep last night? A lot of people did. 50% of kids between the ages of 3 and 10 carry on whole conversations during the night. As we grow older the figure goes down to about 5%. Some people talk occasionally, some every night.

Afraid of revealing secrets? Afraid of missing brilliant Da Vinci ideas you dream about? Or are you just looking for rock solid evidence that your partner snores?

Sleep Talk Recorder monitors your sleep, but it's not just an ongoing recording. An advanced filtering function qualifies sounds and triggers Sleep Talk Recorder technology in a millisecond.

In Sleep Talk Recorder you get it all. A sleek interface with individual settings for sensitivity and filtering. A history that saves your recordings and sorts them on a timeline, night by night, for easy navigation. You can also add your funniest clips to your favorites and post them to FaceBook and Twitter for great laughs!

Sleep Talk Recorder is optimized for Retina Display.

To use Sleep Talk Recorder with iPod, please connect a microphone equipped headset.
