My iPhone has a new camera–or so it seems thanks to Snapture. Snapture is yet another camera app with many of the same features as other camera apps–zoom, a grid to help you line up images, the ability to take multiple picture when you take a picture,  and the ability to take a picture by pressing anywhere on the screen.  These are definately nice features to have, but Snapture executes these features better and in a much more user friendly way.

On top of a well designed UI, Snapture has three features that are fantastic; they are saving images in the background, the ability to preview your last three pictures, and the ability to email or delete images before they are saved.

One drawback to the iphone camera is how long it takes between pictures.  Because Snapture saves the images "in the bacground" you are able to queue up images to save–allowing you to take more pictures more often.  And while your phone is idle, Snapture works on saving the images to your camera roll.

To decide if you like the last few pictures you’ve taken, Snapture shows a preview of the last 3 images on the side of the window.  Pressing one of the thumbnails allows you to preview it. This is much more convient and faster than exiting the app and going to the camera roll to check out the picture.

Sliding your finger across the thumbnail allows you to either delete or email the image, again making things easier to use, and faster to perform.

With all the features and great interface, snapture is more like cramming a digital camera into the iPhone than it is yet another camera app.

Quick Take

Value:High

Would I Buy Again:Yes

Learning Curve:Very easy to learn--almost no learning curve

Who Is It For:People that want more out of their iPhone camera than just a simple "point and click" feature.

What I Like:It packs a lot of features in a small app--it really changed the way I use the camera on the phone.

What I Don't Like:It'd be nice if it saved images int eh background while I wasn't running the app (but there is no multitasking on the iPhone yet). It'd also be great if I could preview more than 3 pictures.

Final Statement:Snapture is a must have app for anybody that frequently uses the camera on their iPhone.
