Ever since the 1996 presidential election, soccer moms are a force to be reckoned with. No wonder that they’re being catered for in apps as well! Soccer my stats is an app that makes it easy for parents to check on their offspring’s progress on the field, keeping track of goals scored, shots taken, assists, offsides and fouls.

Remember when soccer was fun? Just two teams of kids bumping into each other and messing around until someone accidentally landed a goal, while the keeper was talking to his girlfriend? Well, apparently, these days people take their sports just a little bit more seriously. Looking at this app, soccer is a very serious matter indeed. In soccer my stats, proud, or anxious, parents, can fill in their kids’ achievements (or lack thereof). What’s more, they can even export these stats and share them with grandparents, coaches or friends. Which can be very helpful when trying to improve your game: if you’ve got six offsides each game, you may want to work on that some more.

Soccer my stats does exactly what it says on the box. Obviously, if you want to get a scholarship and keep score of how you’re doing, this is a really good app. And they would seem the obvious target audience, as this app has all the facts and none of the frills. It’s easy to use and you can add unlimited data. If this app was really intended for parents, I would have expected more “fun” options, like adding photos or videos or the team’s colors at the very least. It’s all a bit bare now.
