User Rating:Anybody who has even owned a version of Windows back when Windows was young has learned how to play Solitaire. In fact, I recall walking through a previous place of employment a long time ago and noting the sea of green as all visible screens were fixated on that game. Solitaire Siege offers this familiar game with a twist.
In this game, an evil general has created a clone army Palpatine-style to take over the world and you can stop him …. by playing Solitaire. This app sounds like it was made by one of those people from my previous office trying to justify his/her playing of the game during work hours.
The graphics are excellent. There are cool visuals and fades between "scenes" to actually make you think what you’re doing is important.
Unfortunately, the game is a bit confusing for those experienced with the traditional Windows version as it seems to be a different form as Solitaire than that one. The directions on how to play could be clearer. Apparently you have to tap the card that is one above or below the currently selected card to defeat the clone army. Card color or suite doesn’t matter. If no such card exists, you selected another card from the deck. You can only do this a limited number of times before you lose the game.
To quicken the learning curve, the developer should create a version of the game based on the traditional Windows one (unless of course rights issues are involved). However, once learned, the game is as addictive. Recommended.
Pros: Good graphics. Addictive game.
Cons: Could be easier to learn.
