Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor is probably the most original game I’ve played in a long time.. The main goal is to try and capture insects in the various webs that you weave.
Each level is a room in the abandoned Byrce manor—and each level is exquisitely drawn with enough detail to keep you intrigued and not too much to get in the way. The looks of the drawings are an ‘olde tyme’ feel –which fits in perfectly with the mood of the game.
The soundtrack works well to set the mood in each level and doesn’t drone on and on like many other melodies do in games like this.
The controls of the spider are intuitive and fun. To make the spider walk, you simply move your finger in the direction you want him to move. Flicking your finger makes him jump—and boy can he jump. A good flick and you can send your spider flying until he hits something he can land on—the ceiling, chairs, a web, etc. Sometimes I would just jump around the level because of the sheer delight in doing so.
All these elements come together in just the right blend of puzzle, sound, control, intrigue, and fun to make Spider one of my new favorite games.
Although the developer’s notes mention something about a mystery, I haven’t got the faintest clue what they mean—I’m too busy catching bugs. YUM

Learning Curve:It took a screen or two to get used to the gestures (walking vs. jumping) but once I got it, the rest of the game was very intuitive

What I Like:The screens are challenging but not overwhelming, the game play and pace is good, and there is a high game replayability
What I Don't Like:When I'm zoomed out to look around a room, sometimes it's hard to zoom back in
