If you love to do puzzles, and have gotten addicted to one of the latest rages – Sudoku – you’ll be happy know that developer Might Mighty Good Games has come up with Sudoku for the iPhone. Now, you can take your puzzle game wherever you go.
Download Sudoku and set your options by touching Options from the main menu. There are two tabs – one for Game options and one for Color options. There are several Game Options that can be turned ON or OFF. The Display Timer allows you to see how long it takes to solve a puzzle. Use the Show Incorrect option to show you when you’ve entered an incorrect number. The Multiple Notes option will allow for multiple notes in each square to help choose the correct answer. If you want to disable the number button at the bottom when that number is finished being used on the game board, use the Smart Buttons option. You can also touch the Colors Tab and choose one of 4 colors you’d like for your game board. When you’re finished setting your options, you can get started.
Touch New Game on the Main Menu, choose the complexity level of your game –
Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert – and then you’re ready to play. You’ll be presented with a board in the color of your choosing. At the bottom you’ll see the row of numbers. The timer, if chosen, is in the top right hand corner of the screen along with the level of the game.
To play the game, touch the block where you’d like to enter a number, then touch the number. When you enter a number, if the Show Incorrect option is on, an incorrect answer will show in red. If the answer is correct, the number will show in yellow. There are buttons at the bottom that can help you throughout the game. Pause, allows you to pause the game and takes you back to the main menu. (To resume the game, touch Resume on the Main Menu.) Clear allows you to clear your answer. If you click on the double arrows, you will get 3 more options – All Notes (to see all the possible numbers for any give block), Reset (to reset the game) and Hint (which gives you an answer for a selected square or a random square if one is not chosen).
You can also see various statistics when you touch Records from the Main Menu. Your best time is shown by complexity along with the total number of games played and number of games played at each complexity level.
Sudoku is a great version of the puzzle game. I’ve been playing it for quite some time and I really enjoy it. It allows you to learn in the Easy mode, using the various options, so you can become more skillful and move up to the Expert level. Get Sudoku in the App store for FREE or purchase the $2.99 version which has 700 puzzles and more unique color choices.
