Texas Hold ‘Em Poker is a game neatly suited to the iPhone format. It’s fast-paced, not too complicated and dangerously addictive. Thankfully, when the stakes are mere digital money ($3 million of which can be bought for a real-life $3) the game loses its potentially life-destroying edge and can be enjoyed casually. 

Texas Poker Face has everything you need in a Poker app, without any flash excesses. That being said, all the features contained – particularly the online game finder – work smoothly and effectively.  After creating your account, you’re granted $50,000 worth of chips (and an $50,000 each day you log in) for free. From there, you find yourself a game room and gamble away!

Of course, the more thrill-seeking Poker players out there will see no purpose in gambling if there isn’t real money involved, and the dynamic of the game is certainly different with digital money. After all, you’ll be much more willing to lay down a $10,000 knowing that your mortgage repayments aren’t at stake. Still, just because the dynamic’s different doesn’t mean it’s less fun, and some people will definitely prefer this more care-free way of playing.

Finding an online game is almost instant, and the games tick along quickly with 20-second time limits for players to make their moves. Every match you play goes on your online record, and there are leaderboards so you can so who the greatest players are when the stakes are, well, virtually non-existent.
