For those parents who do not want to bore their kids with the same old fairy tales and fantasy worlds. Never say “once upon a time, in a faraway land” again, because Timbuktu gives you a new story or game everyday, bringing smile to both mama and me!

Timbuktu is basically an activity calendar for quality time with your kid. Each day has a specific theme for activity and I came across the following:

Bedstime Stories: This is more of a “Did you Know?” type post rather than stories and many facts are even new to adults.

Activities: Alot of different plans and ideas for your kids to bring into life, of course, with your help.

Family Diary: Speaks the story of a couple – Arnaldo Greco & Adrianna Georggia Bonazzi and their two kids (Good read for the parent).

Math Mysteries: Simple Mathematic puzzles for kids. The question tells a small story of friends,  parties, candies etc to get your toddler’s attention! (recommended for 10+ kids)

The goods: I liked this part very much as it brings forth some of my own childhood memories. This section includes tips for kids, their mischiefs, stupid things they do and much more!

Paper Toys: Name says it all, but they are not the ypical Origamy guides; rather, paper-craft guides where scissors and glue come into play. (Parental guidance required)

Recipes: Let your toddler help you in kitchen with simple dishes for snack.
Pictures: A set of HQ pics suiting the Theme of the Day, with a note of fact
Ask aunt Rita: It is a really nice addition where children can ask their doubts or seek for advice, while aunt Rita responds in a clear and caring manner. Parents going through this section can surely understand their child better.

The app impresses alot in doing what we expect and with the colorful interface and tender sound effects, your kids will surely love it. I went through some of the user reviews at the AppStore and found many parents getting the hang of it. Though free, some days logs need bubbles to unlock and you can stock bubbles from the IA store. To tell the truth, I think those are worth your money as the app succeeds in satisfying both the parent and the kid. Get the app now and I assure that each day keeps you wondering about the unique gigs at Timbuktu.

PARENTS LOVE TIMBUKTU!

***** "GREAT - This app is amazing! Love the clever stories and how kids get involved practically. Timbuktu is the only reason why kids should use an iPad" - by Rowant67

***** "A WONDERFUL READING EXPERIENCE - What a gem! I am wild about this app and love Timbuktu's multicultural, international, and good-natured spin on the parent-child reading experience. Your magazine makes me smile, laugh, and feel nostalgic about my own childhood. As an educator, I recommend this app both personally and professionally for family's eager to take shared story time to the next level" - Pickarosesomeday

***** "FUN AND CUTE! - I have a great time reading the stories with my children. I love the vibrant pictures especially on my new iPad 3. Makes for great bed-time stories and also very educational. Definately an awesome app! - _alexN123

***** "CREATIVE, SUBTLE, AND PRETTY - Timbuktu teaches kids lessons about growing up subtly, creatively, and beautifully. Music, words, video, and interaction make the experience varied and interesting. Most interesting, however, is how they've managed to make it enjoyable for adults as well using good design, high production value, and the right content" - by 8Bigfeet

***** "BEST KIDS EDUTAINMENT APP - Timbuktu has better design than any other children's app or magazine out there. The stories are always playful yet still educational. Glad they've moved to daily content updates, so we won't have to wait as long for new ones" - Duberville
