I very recently finished reviewing the app ToDo. A todo application (obviously) that allows you to sync with your Toodledo account. ToDo got a great review and is well liked across the board by most anyone. Well, since ToDo syncs so well with your Toodledo account, what about an application specifically made by Toodledo? That is what we are here to talk about today.

I didn’t start using Toodledo until I got my iPhone. A lot of people have sticky notes stuffed everywhere on their desk or home mirror, or maybe a tiny notebook they carry in their pocket. I have never been like that. I always figured if it wasn’t important enough for me to remember, it wasn’t important enough to have to be done. Since I have gotten my iPhone however I have started keeping a todo list. Simplicity is something I love and keeping my list on my iPhone makes it simple to know what I need to get done.

When you first open Toodledo (after syncing to your Toodledo account) it will sync up all of your entries. The main screen has a list of options to allow you to fetch almost any task you may have easily. You can sort All tasks, Hotlist, Starred items, Folders, and much more. In the settings menu you can change things such as whether it automatically syncs when you open the app or you can sync it manually. You can even mess with all your fields and default settings, and hotlist settings, application badges and even select which page you want the app to start on when you open it.

Once you finish changing all the settings and getting everything exactly how you like it you can begin to add new tasks. Hit the new task button in the top right corner of the screen and a new page will open. You can specify any title you want and then select what priority to give it, whether or not to star the item, select which folder to place it in and finally add a due date and select if you want it to repeat, and how often. Hit save and the task will be added to your todo list. Simple as that.

Toodledo works well, it makes it simple to add new tasks, specify priority and even keep things organized with folders. Overall it is a fantastic application and a real contender in the “things todo” field of iPhone apps. For my personal taste however it seems a bit overdone. The main screen gives you the ability to view tasks based on a large number of variables. You can view all low priority tasks, view all tasks, view high priority tasks, view tasks by folder, and much much more. Now I am sure there is someone out there who is OCD enough to need this sort of organization, but unfortunately I am not one of them. But as we have all realized before everyone prefers different things. Me? I like simple, and Toodledo is just a tad overbearing with the organization for me. I prefer my ToDo app that allows me to add a task, specify the due date and priority and decide whether or not I want it to repeat and that be all. I don’t have enough things in my life that need done to need to view tasks by folder, or priority, or date. Some people do however, and if you are one that does I 100% recommend Toodledo!

In short: Toodledo is a great application for keeping a tab on things you need to get done. Easily syncs between your online account and your phone. Great organization possibilities for even the most organized people. If you can’t keep track of your tasks with this, I’m not sure any app will help. Very recommended!
