Do you remember those little slider puzzles you used to get as a kid in your party goodie bags? Do you remember how much fun it was (and maybe a little frustrating!) to try to get the picture in the correct order by sliding all the puzzle pieces around? Well, thanks to ZipXing Studio, you can now have that same fun on your iPhone with an App called Unblock It.
Unblock It is a sliding puzzle which has eight stages with eight layouts in each stage. The stages contain various themes such as flowers, birds, butterflies, etc. all with colorful pictures. The layouts are the actual puzzles in each stage that have to be solved. The goal of each layout is to move the largest slider box to the exit located at the bottom center of the screen and unlock a key. Once all the keys are unlocked in all eight layouts, you get to unlock the bonus gates.
Download Unblock It to get started. You’ll be presented with a screen which has the stages at the top and the layouts (or puzzles) in the middle. You can choose any stage by touching it. It will set the theme for your puzzles. Next, touch one of the layouts and you’ll be presented with a screen of blocks – some long rectangular boxes, some small squares and a large square – all with pictures related to the theme. You have to move the boxes around on the screen by sliding them, trying to get the largest square in front of the EXIT located at the bottom center of your screen.
At the bottom of the screen there are some options to help – Back is used to go back to the primary screen, Reset will start your puzzle over, Undo can undo your last move, and Replay will replay your moves. There is also a button called AI (Artificial Intelligence) which will calculate and show you how to solve the puzzle in case you get stuck. You can even create your own layout designs for each stage.
One you’ve solved the layout, you’ll get a message on your screen that says Congratulations! You have won a key! You can then touch Back to go back to the main screen and choose another layout. When you’ve finished all eight layouts, and have gotten all eight keys, you can touch the Bonus layout and you will get a surprise! Unblock It allows you to use its music or your own music while playing.
Unblock It is a fun slider puzzle which challenges your skill and analytical thinking. I am looking forward to some of the upgrades, however, one of which is scoring. Unblock It is available in the App Store for 99 cents, which is half-price until the 1.2 upgrade comes out. There is also a FREE version which allows you to try out the game, first. Try it our for FREE but I’m convinced you’ll love it and will want to purchase the full version.
