I’m not a big poker fan. I’m more fond of strategy-tactic games (go, chess, tafl.) It was then with a bit of skepticism that I picked CelebPoker. Since most poker apps out there in the app store are just real-money grinders, I was real wary. But I was wrong.
I was surprised when I found that you can pick up CelebPoker and play, straight out of the metaphorical box. No need for any fancy site sign ups: the app works with Facebook login, Gamecenter login and you can even play logged out if you prefer. I did so at first.
Just sit straight at a table and play, Texas Hold’em, which somehow is the king of online poker as of late. You can also play Omaha Hi, a quick riser in the area. Of course, what you can play is clear from the onset: poker. What sets this app aside are all the extra goodies.
CelebPoker is very smooth: quick to connect you to a table, and offering an awesome deal of options: send a QR code to invite a friend! How did they come up with that? I don’t know, but it’s an awesome idea. Achievements in an online game? Why not? There are more than 150 achievements you can get (for getting different winning hands, being on a roll, winning with an all in… and so on)
Since the app is free, I urge you to check it out. If you have even the slightest fondness of poker, you’ll enjoy it a lot.
In short: Smooth and full-blown poker app, with a great deal of options, settings and goodies.
