This is one of those games that will raise an eyebrow while in play, leaving users wondering what the developers were thinking when they decided to design such a game.

The objective of Clay Jam is pretty complicated. A bunch of clay creatures have had their home, a clay hill, destroyed. So to rebuild it, you have to take control of a clay ball rolling around to collect more clay. And what better way to accumulate clay than to smash other clay creatures, causing the ball to get bigger as it accumulates clay. While you’re at it, face off against giant evil clay monsters by accelerating and launching the clay ball right in their faces.

In other words, destroy to build more.

Ironical, isn’t it?

Clay Jam had be quite baffled both by its core concept and the actual gameplay itself. To take control of the ball, players use their fingers to trace out a path for the ball to roll onto. As the ball will only travel forwards, players will have to use said path to manipulate the direction it travels, creating turns and swerves and whatnot. Towards the end of each stage, there will be an accelerating pad of sorts to boost the rolling speed of the ball. After which, the ball will launch itself at the enemy located at the end of the level as mentioned earlier.

A weird game, Clay Jam is accompanied by equally weird grunting sounds made by the clay monsters. As far as visuals are concerned, the game seems to revolve around twisted contortions that somehow remind me of Clayface of the Batman series.

Of course, to keep users enticed there are loads of quests and objectives to fulfill.

A free game, I’d say it’s not for everyone but feel free to give it a shot.
