Somebody I know recently deleted their Foursquare account. Why, you may ask? Well, when was the last time you viewed someone’s Foursquare timeline? Exactly. The frequent I’m-here-at-this-exact-point-in-time updates just aren’t important to many people. I see two main reasons for this: you may not see where your friends are until an hour or two after they check in (check-ins quickly become insignificant), and also many of your friends may not live close enough to you for you to care where they are eating or hanging out.
Quipster, a new, fresh take on social networking, attempts to eliminate these problems. First of all, Quips (think of this as a post) are region-specific and only apply to your city. You can post a Quip for almost anything, ranging from this-place-was-too-salty or this-place-was-definitely-worth-the-five-star-price, to there’s-a-party-here or something-news-worthy-just-happened-here. There are many icons divided into eight categories, but luckily there is a useful search function too.
These Quips that you post can be seen by anyone in your city, or by your buddies only if that is what you choose when posting a new Quip. You can also follow anyone from your city, and anyone can follow you. You can also promote followers to buddies so that you can share your private Quips with them.
What I really like about this app is the great range of icons that you can attach to your Quips. Each icon looks incredible and is very relevant to what you are sharing. This, along with the app’s ease of use, make it something very special and something very fun to use.
Unfortunately, what this app currently lacks is a large community. I was very disappointed to find that my suburban city was founded by me, meaning there are currently no other members to follow or post Quips in my entire city.
Hopefully this will be solved with time. Quipster is one of the most incredible, full-of-potential apps that I have seen recently. Download the app and become the Quipster of your city, something that is easier to do now than it will be later.

Who Is It For:Anyone interested in finding and sharing thoughts on things throughout their city.
What I Like:Designed very well and is very easy to use. A fun experience too!
What I Don't Like:Sadly, this app does not currently have a very large user base.
Final Statement:I?ll definitely be keeping an eye on Quipster.

• Nearby: Discover places nearby your current location that other Quipsters have quipped about and check it out.
• Feed: Receive updates on Quips of Quipsters that you follow.
• Privacy: You can select to share your Quips with your buddies only. Buddies are your closed circle of friends. You can upgrade your followers to buddies easily so they can see all your Quips.
• Ranking: Earn points based on the quantity and quality of your Quips as voted by your fellow citizens.
