User Rating:Rope N’Fly Lite is a lawsuit waiting to happen. You cannot possible tell me that having a red and blue character firing ropes out of his (her?) hands is breach of copyrights with regards to a certain web-slinging spider-like superhero. Marvel Comics, prepare the attack lawyers.
Checking iTunes, it seems that the full version of Rope N’Fly ($.99) is actually more popular than its free version. I guess when the full price is less than a buck it doesn’t make all that much different. I should also note that the game play is remarkably similar to another iPhone game called Ninja Ropes (which doesn’t seem to be available on iTunes anymore but does have its own website).
The game itself looks like it was designed by Atari in the 80’s. Very simplistic graphics. The objective is to get as far as you can while swinging along the buildings in 30 seconds. The full version presumably has more settings, modes and game play possibilities.
The game has one cool bit that I like. When you miss a building and fall to the concrete, the character shatters into pieces. Very violent in its own way but it’s a cartoon violence. If they went to realism, there would be a giant blot of red.
In short, it’s a cute game and worth trying out but unless you get the full version it’s not really worth it. But I think that was the programmers’ intention in the first place.
Pros: Easy to play.
Cons: Simplistic graphics. The game is over very quickly.
