I’ve played UNO since I was a kid. It’s one of those games that can be a lot of fun when played with group people—young, old, or mixed. I’ve started to teach my kids how to play the game; playing it with 3 generations is a great little bonding experience.
The UNO app on the phone does a great job of capturing the game play and feel of the card game. The game play is quick and the rules are the same; with a few slight differences. Instead of saying UNO (when you have only one card) you now have to press a “UNO” button. But forgetting to press the button has the same effect as not saying it—you get penalized and need to take 4 cards.
Certain parts of the game are actually BETTER than the actual card game. The center of the screen displays which direction the turns go. Also, you can have LOTS of cards in your “hand” without having to fumble (or get a clothes pin for the kids) to hold them all!
There are several different modes to play, including multiplayer (which I haven’t tried yet), but what I’ve seen of UNO I’ve really liked. In much the same way that the Scrabble app is a great implementation of the Scrabble board game, UNO is a great implementation of the real card game.

Value: High
Would I Buy Again: Yes—it’ll be great for long car rides as well as filling that need for a quick game.
Learning Curve: Low—assuming you know how to play UNO already

What I Like: Great game play, high replayability; smaller footprint than carrying around that big deck of card
What I Don’t: Nothing that I can think of off hand
