Waterslide 2 has some cute improvements over its predecessor. For one thing, it’s a universal app and looks good on both the iPhone and the iPad. Another thing is that suddenly there are more choices for your avatar than man and woman. There is a third choice now: penguin.
There are new impediments to sliding. There are different cityscapes in the background. Even the slide itself looks slightly different from the original version.
All this said, it’s fundamentally the same game, but with more bells and whistles. This is at it should be. Why mess with perfection?
There are cute additions to the game, such as the ability to grab an inner tube on the way down as well as things like squids and jellyfish on the slide (who knows how they got there?). There are also tornados to clear roadblocks from the path sometimes.
My 6-year-old nephew loves this game due to its elegant simplicity. It’s a wonderful game for children.
What would I change? Well, if the creators are going for non-humans on the slide, I’d allow for more choices. Why not a seal or a dolphin? Or maybe something completely unassociated with a waterslide like a dragon or unicorn. I’d also have used the sequel opportunity to create different landscapes for the background like a forest or a desert (for the humor value of course. Who’d build a waterslide in the desert?).

What I Like:Good graphics. Nice evolution of the first game.
What I Don't Like:Could have more choices for characters and backgrounds.
