UNO! Well, you probably won’t be yelling it aloud, but you will be reminded of some of the fun of the classic family card game with UNO & Friends. But, is this another pay-to-play game disguised as a free download?
The Good
The game brings the classic family card game to your fingertips so that you can play with your Facebook friends. The game looks and sounds great, and most importantly, it is fun. Playing against your Facebook friends provides for some quick and easy fun.
The Bad
There seems to be a trend of mobile games allowing play through Facebook only, which means you can’t play against your Twitter friends or Google+ friends. Also, not everyone has Facebook, so they’d have to create one to play online. It’s also really unfortunate that players get only a few tokens to play with for free, and then have to either wait or buy tokens with real money.
The Ugly Truth
UNO & Friends is fun, but it is another prime example of games ruined by a pay-to-play model. Gameloft would’ve been much more acceptable if players could just spend a dollar and buy the app once. UNO & Friends is worth the download, but don’t expect to play it every day unless you want to pay up, as it takes a while to accumulate tokens.
