User Rating:If you have a child, and you think there is even a chance that the child will end up becoming an engineer, then you should definitely splurge on Bridge Odyssey. After spending just a little time with this game, I find it riveting.
The premise is simple. There is a set of cute animals on a group of islands. You have to build bridges that allow the animals to go to other islands and do certain tasks such as freeing fellow animals from cages. The trick is building a sturdy enough bridge to carry the different animals between islands.
Building a bridge is as simple as drawing a line from one point to another. Each line contains points within it and its possible to reinforce the bridges by connecting these points. Building the right type of bridge becomes like solving a puzzle.
The animation is excellent, particularly for such a simplistic app. There’s also lots of cute animations like a boat going between sets of islands when you choose from one of three levels. The app does have an Options menu which allows you to control the volume of music and sound effects as well as have a grid appear on screen for easier bridge-building and two different camera modes.
Bridge Odyssey is a fun app that uses real physics to allow the user to build a working bridge. It’s both fun and an educational tool. The only negative I can see about this app is the slightly high price. Fortunately, there is a toned-down free version if you just want to try it out.
