Everyone was definitely looking forward to know the person which managed to be the 25billionth downloader on the Apple App Store. This is because the counter on which was present in the contest page turns around so very quickly that it made people unsure whether they were the 25 billionth or not. Nevertheless, as stated by the contest’s T&C, only Apple have the authority and the log of the 25 billionth downloader and it was some time before the winner of the $10,000 iTunes Gift Store card was identified.

Apparently, the winner isn’t one from the United States or any other countries on which is considered Apple’s most valuable consumer base. In fact, the winner comes from the region where the iPhone itself was created which is China. Chunli Fu from Qingdao, China managed to get the $10,000 iTunes Gift Card when he downloaded Where’s My Water by Disney.

The 25 billion app downloads is definitely a milestone for Apple as it is the first company to ever managed to reach that much app downloads through its mobile marketplace. Other marketplaces such as the Windows Marketplace or the Android Market are still lagging far behind the Apple App Store. In fact, it will be years before these two will manage to compete with this App Store.
