Being a avid Angry Birds player I will attest to the fun of blowing up stuff. Watching debris fly across the screen after a well placed bomb is very satisfying in a way I’m sure a psychologist would say is borderline disturbing. There are games that capitalize on this desire for wanton destruction and provide this with beautiful graphics, entertaining physics, and enthralling sound effects. Transbomber is one of those games that plays to the mad bomber in all of us.

This physic destroyer game by Kuma Lab stands out from other games of this type but having you launch your implements of destruction from a passing aircraft instead of from the ground. This, added with the ever changing wind conditions, ramps up the difficulty considerably, making Transbomber a challenging game to play.

The game gives you four different types of bombs, each of which has their own method of reaching their target. The blast radius of these bombs in almost nonexistent so accuracy of key. The targets do take some damage from falling or from having things fall of them, but don’t count of that to save you from restarting. In fact, I would say these “bombs” act more like bullets than explosive devices. Landing an attack requires that you gauge the distance and amount of wind to determine when your should make the drop. After all targets on a level are destroyed you are given a rating of one to three medals depending on how many planes it took you to finish. Each level that completed opens up two new levels which is a nice feature since I found some of the level frustratingly impossible and I would glad I could simply skip them until later. There are sixty different levels and while I was disappointed in the lack of variety, the levels are functional and I did find this game oddly addicting.

The graphics and sounds are rather basic so if you are looking for the guttural punch each time you blow your targets to bits you wont find it here. The lack of responsive physics and blast radiuses is also disappointing, and while it may lead to a more difficulty game, it lacks that satisfying feeling when you succeed. Transbomber is going to be your next must-play game, but if you like simple causal games that will help you pass the time, this one may be the ticket. You can find Transbomber in two flavors; $.99 or a lite version which only contains ten levels.
