iBetaTest: An iPhone App Beta Testing Service / Community

ibetatest.pngiBetaTest is a new site that aims to bring together iPhone application developers and eager beta testers. The benefit for both sides is that developers get an eager set of users to play with their apps before they hit prime time, and the users get exclusive access and a first look at apps not yet released. A win-win. The iBetaTest site has a lot of explanatory copy and screenshots and it looks like a well put together site.

iBetaTest only launched a few days ago but 2346 beta testers are already registered with the site against only 6 apps waiting to be tested, so it seems like a good time to get in. There’s a risk, of course, of dealing with time wasters who only want to play with your app but not report back, but a ratings system has been implemented so over time it should be possible to pick and choose beta testers who do the best job.
