Now here’s an application that all you Tivo, DVR, and traveling folks who want to make sure they don’t miss their favorite TV shows will LOVE!!

TVStatus allows you to select all your favorite daily shows and load them into your iPhone/iTouch devices for immediate reference to schedule recording of your favorite TV shows.

When you first open the program you are shown the current day’s schedule of programming that you have previously selected. As you scroll down the window, the succeeding days of TV programs become visible day by day.

The best way to set TVStatus up is to take the time (maybe 2 hours) to go through your entire weekly TV shows and set them up completely.Setting up TVStatus takes a little getting used to.

First of all you must be online to do any scheduling because the info is coming from www.tvrage.com and other TVStatus scheduling sources around the internet. When you start up the program you’ll be presented with a window that has your selected shows for the current day.
At the bottom of that window you will see that "My Shows" is highlighted.  Since you could be in any part of the country the shows are only referred to by Network rather than Channel.

The second option at the bottom of the window is "Search". That will present you a screen in which you can type a search term to search the listings and if you tap on the small area near the top of the window, a keyboard will appear for you to enter the name of the show for which you are searching. Once the name is entered you press "search" and any show that include the name you entered will appear. If you see the show you’re looking for, you can tap on the name and you’ll be asked if you want to confirm the selection.  Once confirmed, it will be placed in your schedule.  As you add more shows they are automatically placed in their proper time slot and day.  You can continue to use this process until you have entered all your favorite shows.

The Third option at the bottom of the window initially takes you to the schedule area.  When you make a selection here, you can search for shows by category.

The Fourth choice at the bottom of the window is a TV News area where you can catch up on the latest gossip.

The Final option at the bottom of the window is a tech support area for your questions. FAQuestions can be answered here and links to the TVStatus Website for more support can be found here.

TVStatus is a very straight forward and convenient way to view your daily, nightly or weekly TV viewing choices at a glance. Once your choices are made, you merely have to open the program to get to the day’s shows. If you’re going to be away from home you can program days in advance quickly with the use of TVStatus in your iPhone/iTouch device.

TVStatus will help make sure that you remember to record your favorite TV shows at the touch of a button!

Quick Take

Value: Being able to quickly glance through your primetime schedule to decide what to watch and what to record is a welcome convenience.

Would I Buy Again: Absolutely!

Learning Curve: If you’re very familiar with iPhone/iTouch operation, getting this application to work will present little problem for you.

Who is it for: Anyone who wants to be able to see what favorite shows are scheduled for the desired night to be watched or recorded.

What I like: The concept of glancing through my favorite prime time shows quickly to decide what to record is a real blessing!!

What I Don’’t: As I showed above, the instructions on how to use this program efficiently should be a bit more user friendly.

Final Statement: I admit that I’m a TV addict and find this program immensely useful in scheduling my favorite shows. Not having to wade through all the various TV listings to locate the shows that I want to watch or record is greatly appreciated. It makes your TV watching so much easier! For the Tivo, DVR, and VCR recording folks out there this is a winner!!!
