User Rating:If you love to cook or just love to eat, this may be the app for you. It’s like having the Food Network in your pocket (or at least their website).
Obviously, the entire app is a big marketing ploy, but it’s a pretty good one. They list out their shows on the main page and each show takes you to its own section with video clips. Some of them even have full episodes.
The app also has photos from each show and a section that organizes the video clips by popularity. You can also get a television schedule as to what’s on the Food Network at this very moment or in the coming days.
The app allows you to search the app content, bookmark sections as favorites and send feedback. It’s a simple app that pretty much does the sort of thing you’d expect it to.
Naturally, a data or WiFi connection is necessary in order to get content. You can’t expect these many videos (which include full episodes) to be put right on the device. It would gobble up any space you may have.
I’m not a Food Network junkie, but I know people that are. Even I must admit to getting sucked into a show or two when they go into exactly how certain foods are made. If you are a foodie and you don’t have this app on your iPhone or iPod Touch, then I don’t know what’s keeping you. It certainly isn’t the price.
