According to Geekbench the Mac Pro is running a single 12-core processor Xeon E5-2697 v2 running at 2.7 GHz. It is also equipped with 64 GB of RAM.

When you look at the table below comparing the new beast to the current high-end 12-core Mac Pro running a pair of 3.06 GHz Westmere processors you see that the performance is about 1,900 points better.

While many might have expected it to be much higher we need to remember that this is not the final release and Apple might still tinker with it before the final release.
