A research done by an independent company called Chitika Insights has revealed that more than 60% of their sample of mobile ad impression came from iPhones running iOS 6 instead of the previous ones. This information was taken from its ad networks in the United States between 18 September and 1 October. The main objective was to discover the penetration rate of the new operating system and how well it has been adopted by users.

As compared with the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users have less users updating their devices to iOS 6. While 50% of the iPad users have upgraded, only 39% of the iPod Touch users has updated. The main reason for this is that these users are unable to pass iOS 4 due to the first and second generation barrier making it impossible for them to run iOS 6. With this being said and done, the iOS 6 has definitely garnered some good response from its users.

In other news, Google had just released their Street View imagery for its mobile web version. This makes it a lot more interesting as compared with the Maps application released by Apple. However,  there has yet to be any announcement as to when Google Maps for iPhone will be made available.
