Shazam is an app for smartphones and tablets with which users can easily find out what song is played on the radio, in the cafeteria, on television or in any place where can a song be heard. The application has become extremely popular among users, and those from Shazam continue to develop and implement new and useful functions.

During the day, Shazam has received a major update which brings many features. If in the past Shazam was available in the App Store in a form of two applications, a special iPhone/iPod touch and a special one for the iPad, thanks to the latest update the application has become universal and iPad owners will have to delete the old application and to download the new one (link provided below). The 6.0.0 version of Shazam can discover through an interactive map, the most popular songs in iTunes from different countries and continents, bringing Auto Tagging feature which automatically indexes all the songs you’ve discovered through this application and records sounds in the background to show all the songs to listen while you play a game or stay on Facebook.

Besides all this, the new version of the app brings a new startup screen that displays our last song that we found with this application and lists the most popular songs from around the world that you can scroll through a simple swipe. Finally, I must say that Auto Tagging can consume quite a lot battery because it registers in the background, and it would be better to disable the application’s main screen.

To update to 6.0.0 version of Shazam you need to open the App Store from your iOS device and visit the Updates section, where the app title will appear and you can find the Update button. If you have not downloaded the application yet, visit the link below to download it now:
