Siriusly?

Five years ago, I was looking for something that would let me play continuous music in my office without interruptions and with a fast beat.

After spending some money on CD’s (I know, I know, CD’s?  Why not iPod, I have my reasons), I quickly found that it was a pain to keep rotation of new material in the player.  So I decided that I would swallow hard and spend the $150 for a Sirius Radio.  At $12 / month, it was cheaper than my music buying habits, and i didn’t have to worry about managing a large CD collection (or even itunes collection) of music to fit my need.

I have NEVER looked back, and hardly ever (if at all) listen to regular radio anymore.

You see, I bought Sirius way before Howard decided to join, I bought it for the music, and there is NO comparison to the sound quality, selection, and commercial free stations its offers.  No comparison of course until now.  It seems that even though AOL Radio, Pandora (which I have been using for a number of years on my Mac and love it as much as Sirius), and a few others (soon, I’m sure), offer an alternative to Sirius, I am really used to their programming, stations, and quality of music selections.  My kids love KidStuff radio, I love Fox News, the 80’s station, 90’s station, Heavy Metal and Alternative selections, and of course Howard.

So why am I bringing all this up?  Simple.  Sirius is coming to iPhone!   It seems that GeeksToolbox is creating a version of their StarPlayr for the iPhone, and I simply cant wait to try it out.  Imagine, portable Sirius radio?  And no need for that silly antenna anymore?  It can’t happen soon enough.  So be on the lookout for my reviews the moment its available.  Guess I’m going to have to set up that stereo now with a connection to my iPhone.
