We love sharing our thoughts about the best and the worst applications out there.

When we look at an application we do our best to give you as good an overview as we can and to make a specific recommendation as possible.

One of the best things, however, is when we give our perspective and you share your take, as well.

More and more we would like to see the site become a forum for all of us, as end users, to share our thoughts and ideas.

In fact, our final contest is focused on doing just that…

Welcome to our "2009 iPhone Survival Kit" Giveaway.

Whether you just got your iPhone or are an experienced iPhone-user, this is a great package.

It currently includes…over 30 applications, a leather Sena case for iPhone, an Etymotic HF2 headset, and more.

(The package is growing every day and we’ll update you as it does.).

One grand prize winner will receive it all!

 Here’s how to enter…

Later tonight we’ll add a forum section for the contest. (We’ll link to it HERE.) In it you’ll find part of the "iTunes App Store Top Applications of 2008".

Look at the list and pick one of the applications.

Hit "reply" and post which app you’ve picked. Once an app has been picked by one of our readers, it’s no longer available on the contest so please check the list before you begin. (Note: we will not be supplying the apps so pick one you own or purchase it if it is a paid app.)

Write a review of the application based upon the template at the end of this post.

Send a review directly to us at– [email protected]— (don’t put it up on the site) — As long as the review follows the general template, it will serve as your entry.

Once your review has been sent, feel free to pick another etc. You may enter as mant times as you like but PLEASE take only one app at a time.

When those applications that were initially available have all been taken, we will post a second round for review and so on.

At 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time on New Year’s Eve, we will randomly pick the grand prize winner from among all those who entered. In addition, we’ll then post all of the reviews and invite everyone to add their comments.

Structure for a review.

1. Give us an overview of the application, its purpose, and its interface.

2. Describe your experience using application — what you like and what you don’t.

Give us some insight into what you might change.

Include 2-3 screen caps.

Finally, give us a quick overview with…
