Did you say current affairs? Then, Circa News is made just for you. This app is the best tool to keep updated with the hottest News in the air. We have seen many News-reading apps, especially official apps of the Television News Channels, but Circa News tries it from a new angle.

The editors sort the top articles from various sources, abridge them to the least possible size and submit them for your eyes. Each such tiny posts can be an article, a picture or a quote. If you are interested in a particular post, you can follow it and keep updated with latest additions. All the work is done by the enthusiasts at Circa and all you do is, enjoy your cup of coffee, as you browse through your favorite News.
The clean white interface of the app wins your heart proving “Simplicity is indeed the Ultimate beauty“. It is impressive to find that the app doesn’t sacrifice any features for its minimalistic design. Home shows the Latest News under the Circa header, with Reload and Listing options. Currently, the categories show only the Followed Stories, Top Stories and Election 2012. I couldn’t find any way to add our own categories or any native sorting of stories, which I feel, is a major left out. Tap on an interesting story to see the main article and swipe up for the updates. Tap on the plus sign on right-top to follow it but, you need to sign-up for this feature. You have options to share a story on Facebook or Twitter and can leave an additional note as description. The info icon on top provides you the links of the actual story and you can read more in the built-in browser. By the way, did I mention that there are no annoying ads?

Of all the News apps I have used, I donot hesitate to say that this is the best and as you might have noticed, the editors at the Appstore seems to think the same. Since this is the initial release version, we can expect much more features like, sorting, searching etc soon, to make this app complete.

Quick Take

Would I Buy Again:Of course

Learning Curve:Low

Who Is It For:Those who want to keep updated with the events around the world

What I Like:Minimalistic Design

What I Don't Like:Lack of sorting into categories

Final Statement:Say goodbye to News Channels and Websites
