doubleTwist with Magic Radio is an app that allows you to enjoy your synced music over WiFi, stream music, videos and photos to Xbox 360, PS3 and Apple TV, and have a “magic” radio of personalized streaming music from a catalog of over 13 million songs. But, there’s a problem: the radio isn’t magical, at all.
The Good
There’s really nothing special about the music player, but it does what it is supposed to do: play your music. It does look great, though, with a black background and shiny silver icons. The UI is smooth and effortless, and syncing is easy. You can also subscribe to podcasts, and there are a lot of podcasts to choose from, all of which are organized categorically. There are blogs for all types of listeners: sports fans, gamers, comic book geeks, and movie fans.
The Bad
Unfortunately, the good features that would make it a stand-out application are not free, and are quite costly. A task as simple as downloading album art will cost you a one-time payment of $4.99; a service that is free on iTunes and just about every other music software on the Google Play market. The “Magic Radio” isn’t free either, which is absolutely absurd. You can get a free 7 day trial, but after your 7 days are up, the radio will cost you $3.99 per month. Ridiculous. For those keeping score at home, this music app will cost you at least $8.98 if you want it to do more than just play music.
The Ugly Truth
doubleTwist with Magic Radio is an app that is greatly hindered by the company’s attempt to make money. Seriously, are you charging for album art? The marketplace is filled with apps that do the same thing for free. Google Play Music is a much better app than this, and there really isn’t a reason you should have to pay for radio apps, as there are a plethora of options in the marketplace for you to choose from instead (TuneIn Radio, iHeartRadio, Slacker, Pandora, etc).

What I Don't Like:High cost if you want to do anything other than listen to your music collection.
Final Statement:This app isn't worth your time, due to its unfortunately costly extra features that would separate it from the other apps in the marketplace.
