Though the screenshots at the AppStore didn’t make much of an impression, the user-rating of 4 stars made me grab this game for review. After playing Fun Run Multiplayer Race for over 2 hours, I regret for not having gone by my instincts.
This is a multiplayer racing game where you are the bad kitty going against 3 others. When the timer hits go, your cat starts the dash and there no stopping! Right-bottom tap to jump is the only control provided, which makes one-hand play possible. The track is a sort of dreamland where rainbows, candies, clouds and jellies occasionally replace the normal ground. Timing the jump and choosing the best course are what determines the winner. Also, frequent power-ups can be picked up along the track and can be used by a left bottom tap. They can slow down other competitors and include lightnings, saws, traps, speed, magnet etc. Bear in mind that other cats are also entitled to use the same attacks, but shields and shock-absorbers can help you there.
The graphic effects are below average and so are the flimsy controls. Sound effects are minimal without an effective background score. A variety of Forest and Candyland tracks are available, along with premium customizations and costumes for your kitty. Online battles with friends or even strangers are challenging, and forms the highlight of the game.
It is neither the easiest nor the most addictive game out there but, to be honest, it does get to you after a few rounds. Though not the worst game I’ve ever reviewed, I ain’t generous enough to rate it 4 like the AppStore. As always, we would love to hear what you guys think; so don’t forget to leave a comment below.
