Anyone who wants to carry a copy of the Quran along with them on a journey or to read at any point of their day will appreciate the convenience of the Quran Reader app. It provides the full text of the book in an easy to read electronic format that can be quickly downloaded to a mobile device.

The Quran Reader app is beautifully designed and printed in Arabic. It is the Othmani format and comes with both Surah and Juz’ indices to make it much simpler to find the appropriate text and corresponding page numbers. These can then be tapped along the side of the interface and the pages open immediately. To read the full text is quite simple, and a swipe of the finger “turns the page”.

The reader can also bookmark areas of the text to allow them to retrieve the quotations or notes they need. When the Quran Reader app is closed it will automatically save the place or the last page and return the app user to this position the next time the work is opened. The layout on the screen displays the Surah name along the top of the display and the Juz’ number at the bottom.

There are many apps available for those who want to read various Islamic religious texts, and this one presents the Quran in the original Arabic. It is currently compatible only with iPod Touch and iPhone devices.

The cost for the Quran Reader app is $1.99 and the developer is working on a landscape format and high resolution graphics too. These will be available free of charge.
