Have you ever had a line of text or a phrase stuck in your head and you just can’t remember who said it? This is the perfect time for the Quotationary app because it allows the user to look through more than thirty thousand quotes to find just the right words or to figure out who is responsible for a particular statement.

The Quotationary app comes with thirty thousand quotes that are permanently downloaded to the mobile device, so no Internet access is needed to perform an in-app search. A detailed list of individuals and authors can also be used to find quotes from specific people. There is also a single button search that accesses Google and Wikipedia to find the text or quotes from the name entered, and this does require the device to be connected to the Internet, though the user remains in the app while the search is done.

Results can be viewed in the full text, or in partial view. Any favorites can be marked and stored for later reading, and even sent via email. There are some fun extras such as the trivia game which tests the knowledge of the user and random quotes received by shaking the device.

There are many apps for finding quotes, including 15,000 Useful Phrases and the Quote Book, but this is one that comes with a pre-existing library and an integrated search feature. It is compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch devices.
