iOS is a breeding ground for simple single use apps. When you are on the go you don’t want to mess with extraneous features that will slow you down. One common way people keep track of notes in the mobile world is to send themselves emails. They can then act upon the note when you are viewing their other correspondence. Noted! by AnalogueBits is single minded in its mission to give you the fastest emailing app ever.

Noted! doesn’t even have a button to credit the programmers. There is literally three buttons: clear, send, and a button to hide the keyboard. When you send, an email is sent the the address that you have set up. This email address can be changed in the settings (found in the iOS settings app) but the idea is that you use a email that you send to often. The uses for this are many. You could use this app to interface with many popular services like Evernote, or Remember the Milk. you could also set up one of the many email to twitter services to that Noted! becomes a super quick tweeting utility.

The options are as endless as the ability to send an email. Noted! is fast and does it’s job well, though I do wish there was a way to change the SMTP settings to utilize one’s own server. This would eliminate the only really complaint I have. There are many people that are concerned with privacy and they would not be pleased with Noted’s use of a third party server for sending email. I understand that most people would not care less, and they want Noted! to work out of the box, but I think the option should be there to make the change is desired. Otherwise, I found Noted! to be an excellent tool to keep around for quick note taking. Noted! will run you $1.99 and it available in the app store now.

We rate this app 4 out of 5 stars.
