User Rating:Dungeon Hunter has fantastic graphics and motion. It’s the sort of animation I’d expect from a PS2, Wii or XBox. Even at seven bucks this game is a bit of a bargain.
When the game first begins, you have to choose your character type and name. After which, your character walks around a castle killing various monsters and opening treasure chests. The game explains the purpose of each step of the quest and even has an animation setting up the next challenge or set of monsters. The game is played from a bird’s eye perspective but the "camera" pans to other angles occasionally.
Along with a complex story and animation, the app also has a fairly complex Options menu which allows you to change many aspects of the game. Naturally it has my favorite feature where you can play your audio library in the background during play.
One suggestion to improve the game would be to change the perspective from third person to first person. If the creators have worked this hard on creating such a cool hand-held game, changing the perspective should be a snap.
If you like third-person hack-and-slash swords-and-sorcery RPG’s with a great story, awesome graphics, and unparalleled animation, then look no further. If price is an issue, then stick around until the next sale.
Quick Take
Value:High.
Would I Buy Again:For seven bucks? Maybe. For a buck? Definitely.
Learning Curve:Low to Medium.
Who Is It For:RPG fans who like graphics and animation at near-perfect levels.
What I Like:The graphics. The animation. It feels like an XBox, Wii or PS2 game.
What I Don't Like:Would be nice to be able to change from third-person to first-person perspective.
Final Statement:Hunt yourself up some Dungeon Hunter.
