When I scroll through the App Store looking for a new game, I find myself captivated by the title and description only to be let down by the gameplay. It seems as if many companies just copy a popular idea and make spin offs, hoping to profit. This especially seems to be the case with the tower defense-type games. Every version has some sort of 2D path with a shop to purchase weapons and defend your tower. However, this is not the case with Save Our Sheep.
This tower defense game’s unique spin will have you baah-baah-begging for more. Save Our Sheep is based around the objective of protecting the farmers sheep from the big bad wolves. The first thing I noticed about this game were the graphics. The 3D look gave a fresh perspective on tower defense games and made Save Our Sheep all the more enjoyable.
Unlike other games of this genre, users do not use only weapons to defend their sheep. The main form of defense from the hungry wolves is actually your fingers. Players must swipe the wolf in one direction to confuse them then quickly swipe the other way to send them flying. Of course, there are different types of wolf, each with different strengths and abilities.
The only complaint I had about this form of gameplay is that the game would sometimes not register a swipe in one of the corners or near the sides, making it somewhat annoying. Just like any other tower defense games, players can use the money earned (or in this case, the wool collected from the sheep periodically) to purchase weapons such as corn shooters, bombs, and an airplane flyover that launches watermelons everywhere.
There are currently 15 levels in Save Our Sheep. Don’t let this number fool you, as the game does get increasingly harder, and each level is fairly long. Overall, I really liked the fresh look of tower defense games presented by Save Our Sheep. It combined great looking graphics with a fun and unique game style to deliver a game that I could not put down. Be sure to check it out in the App Store so that you can help save the sheep from the Baaaaaaahhh-d baaaaaaahhhh-d wolves!

Here is a farm surrounded by wild wolves. The farmer has to keep a close eye on those wolves. Unfortunately, he has to go out for some business, leaving the farm to his son. That would be the best chance for the sneaky wolves. So, the young boy has to buck up and rack his brain to protect the sheep.

The first tool the young boy gets is his father’s rake, which could be lifted high to hit the wolves, or knock the wolves away like golf shots. The skillful rake-hit is the most convenient way to beat the wolves. In this game, slide your fingers from the top to hit the wolf and make it stunned. Then, immediately slide the rake from the bottom to knock the wolves away.
Continue the game, more props will be available, such as bomb barrel, sheepdog, pump, rattrap, barrier, pesticide sprayer, and even high voltage tower, corn harvester, ice maker etc...
