This app brought to you free by Bing! is very welcoming. When you launch the app you are presented by a splash screen. That splash screen reminds you that in order to keep this app free its users should download Bing! for iPhone.

After the initial screen, you are presented with the opening screen.  It has the scroll selector which asks you for the year you would like to see the top 100 songs for.  Once you’ve selected your year, tap Listen Now and the music will begin to play.

In the now playing widow you are presented with a few options.  You can control the volume, play or pause the track, move on to the next track, and jump back to the year selection screen.  The other option is a menu that opens after you click on the arrow icon.  You can search Bing by artist, lyrics, or song title.  Of course they would include a built in music search feature for Bing, its a shameless promo and a way to get more mobile searches!

If you opt to get the lyrics or search artist in Bing, it opens up a browser within the app so you don’t have to worry about getting kicked out and having to come back to start over in the app.  In my experience you must have patience with this browser as it runs a bit slower then safari.

The track list menu is really neat as it shows you all the songs in the top 100.  You can even scroll through the list and click on any of those songs to hear a preview (not full song), buy the song, or see the video from Youtube.

I did run into an issue after previewing a song though, the issue was that resuming where I left off before the preview was lost.  I had to go back to the selection screen and re-select a year to hear the top 100 from.  Other than that somewhat annoying process, the app is solid and brings me back to old memories when I heard lots of these songs on the radio.

Quick Take

Value:High.

Would I Buy Again:Yes.

Learning Curve:None.

Who Is It For:People who love music and want to relive old playlists

What I Like:Streaming music from the top 100 on years I loved

What I Don't Like:Bing! Ads popping up every so often.

Final Statement:This app is great, it helps you find the music you loved by the year it was in the top 100s.
